While Spring is an opportunity to experience new life, it calls us to reflect on recent seasons to be able to move forward with clarity and intention. This guided meditation is focused on helping you acknowledge your recent year to be able to bring meaning to your experiences in support of personal renewal. Below is a recording for your practice as well as the transcript to use for your own reading.

Welcome to this reflection and renewal meditation. My name is _____, and I will be your guide for this meditative journey to look at your life experiences, and make meaning for them, to help embody more peace, compassion, hope, and vision.
Find yourself a comfortable seat in a chair or on the floor. Or maybe lie down. You may close your eyes or lower your gaze, and take a few deep breaths to settle into your body. Settle into this moment, releasing the tension in your hips, letting your shoulders fall. Maybe giving your neck a roll, and then find a soft, easy breath to carry you through this meditation.
It is early morning. You awaken sleepy-eyed in a cabin for one, the sun beaming in, a crisp air sliding through the cracked window while the scent of last night's fire sweetens the room. You push the heavy flannel sheets away from your body. And feel yourself renewed, open to the day, ready to stretch out the tension from sleep. You rise your arms up, bringing your shoulders to your ears and dropping your arms like wings to your sides. You sway from side to side. You reach down and touch your toes and slowly roll your body back up to stand. And your shoulders sit back. You wrap yourself in a warm, plush robe and set out to pour yourself a warm morning cup—steaming, sweet aromas, to tell you good morning.
You can't help but wander immediately outside to listen to the birds in their early chirping to try to understand their conversations. You take a moment of morning solace, just you and the sky. You take a sip and feel the warmth. Flow through your body as the sun kisses your cheeks.
From the porch, you look out into an open yard. You are the only cabin in sight. The small field before you is lined with trees. You can't help but notice one tree having some extra space all to its own. Despite your slippers and your robe, you have to wander to it. You cross through the dewy grass and trust the sun to dry you later. Long, slow strides, looking around, listening– you eventually find yourself before this tree.
You notice a box kind of tucked in the roots. You pick up the box, open it, and inside you find these little trinkets. Small symbols, things you recognize in their miniature form, each one representing something that's happened in the last year. You hold this box, and you pick each little symbol up one at a time, holding it in your hand, spending a few breaths, with each one. And you remember... and you feel... you allow. You accept. Then, you set it back in the box. And you pick up another... and you hold it in your hand. You bring it to your heart. And you allow. And you accept. You do this as many times as you need to with each item, allowing the feelings with it to flow, honoring its presence.
Then you realize there's an envelope at the bottom of the box, beneath all of the items. You sit the box down so you can open the envelope. Very slowly, you pull out this card. And it says a message. What have these things brought you? Maybe you feel a special message for each item. Just allow yourself this space to hear the message. Soak in the meaning.
You put the card back in the envelope and tuck it safely back in the box. You notice... all of the other symbols are much smaller now, and there's a new item in the box that represents your future. You pick it up. You hold it to your heart. You say to yourself, “I know there is hope for me.” And this means …what for you? You look at the item, and you feel thankful. You feel renewed.
You put the item in your pocket and you close the box. You say goodbye to the tree, and you turn back to the yard. And you walk– a little taller, a little faster, a little warmer than before back to the cabin. And you're ready to pack your bags because now– you know exactly where to go.
