We all have unique life experiences that have shaped our feelings and responses. Your thoughts and feelings make sense, given these life experiences and what is helpful to one client may not be to another. For this reason, I practice integrative psychotherapy. I adapt the therapy experience to your individual needs by utilizing multiple interventions and paying attention to the mind, body, and spirit.
The Therapy Experience
Much of our sessions will consist of talking one-on-one. A powerful process of insight and self-compassion occurs when verbalizing thoughts and feelings to another person in a confidential space. You will set the pace and frequency of therapy sessions, and together, we will gain insight and find the path to your healing.
We will explore a variety of tools in talk therapy and we will find what suits your needs. Additionally, we may also utilize tools such as **art, guided meditation, visualization, sand tray, prompted writing, or breath-work**. I will guide you in observing and verbalizing your emotions, thought patterns, and physical sensations. We will explore your relationships with others as well as your relationship with yourself.
Internal Family Systems (IFS)
I incorporate a "parts" perspective (Internal Family Systems) into many of my sessions. IFS is a **non-pathologizing, client-led approach** that I have found to be a powerful tool both professionally and personally. IFS shows us that all “symptoms” make sense given your experience and provides a compassionate path to deep and lasting inner healing.
