Teletherapy Best Practices
Teletherapy offers a convenient online solution for addressing emotional and psychological issues, making it comparable to in-person sessions. To ensure that you get the best out of your Teletherapy appointment and maximize your privacy, please follow this checklist when preparing for your call.
⚠️ CRITICAL SAFETY NOTE: For your safety, you cannot be driving or operating machinery during the session.
- Ensure Privacy & Safety: Set up your computer or phone in a private space where no one is within earshot.
- Minimize Distractions: Turn off all electronics, including televisions, radios, and anything else that would cause distraction.
- Optimize Audio: Make sure your headphones/earbuds are connected and working properly. Please test this before logging in for the call.
- Improve Connection (Phone Users): If using a phone, make sure to turn off Wi-Fi and use mobile data. This often prevents calls from dropping.
- Orient Your Device: If using a phone, please set your phone up on the landscape (horizontal) orientation.
- Log In Early: Please make sure to log into your online member portal 5 minutes early to resolve any technical issues promptly.
- Maintain Visibility: Your camera must be on for the entire session. We like to see you face-to-face!
- Dress Code: Clients are required to be fully clothed for the session.
